Procedure

UK Import procedures for Seago Line

Please be aware of our delivery/release procedures for Imports into the UK.

If the shipment has been booked on an original bill of lading we need to receive at least one original bill of lading before we can act on your instructions. We cannot accept photocopies. This needs to be sent to the Seago Line office in Liverpool.
  • We accept "Telex Release" where one or more original B/Ls are lodged with an overseas office.
  • We require any outstanding charges to be paid before we can deliver/release your container including any demurrage and or quay rent charges that may be incurred. If you need an invoice for these charges, please contact Seago Line Imports.
  • If you are acting on behalf of the consignee on the B/L we will require a release to your order from them.
  • For merchant haulage release we no longer charge LOLO (Lift on lift off).
  • Please note it is the consignee’s responsibility to ensure that the cargo is customs cleared before release or delivery. We do not arrange customs clearance for non-EU cargo, but can recommend DAMCO who can assist you with this.  Email – MyCustomsUK@damco.com Telephone – 0844 264 3477.  If the cargo is from an EU origin, the cargo can be cleared on an Intra-Community document called a T2L. The shipper may request the booking office to raise the T2L or ask a local agent. The T2L should then be sent to Seago Line in the UK. Once the T2L is received we will action the clearance in the local port system.
  • Before the shipment has arrived we can pre book the delivery of the container. We can offer delivery from 24 hours after the vessel has sailed (subject to availability) and we require 48 hours written notification for a delivery request.
  • Our haulage availability is available from - http://cloud.mktg.maerskline.com/ukitrafficlights
  • The delivery details must be emailed to Seago Line and must include the below:

    1. Container number(s)
    2. Delivery date
    3. Delivery time
    4. Full address including post code
    5. Any special instructions for the delivery point or delivery references
