Import
- Customers will require rated Original Bill of Lading for Customs clearance.
- Customers need to settle all collect charges with Sealand to proceed with the haulage.
- Please click here to request your import manifest in TICA. Please use this same link to request any required change. Mail request will not be monitored.
- Once Customs authorizes the release of the cargo, the customer can then request the haulage of the container:
- For Store Door Carrier haulage (SD) by raising a case “Case management” via web: https://www.sealandmaersk.com/support or by sending an e-mail to our Customer Service Department customerservice@sealandmaersk.com. All requests must include details of final destination of the cargo, delivery instruction and Customs documents (DUA). Additional documents may be required for Puerto Caldera Terminal.
- For Container Yard Merchant haulage (CY) by contacting terminals directly. CY Delivery order must be requested here > Delivery Order.

- For Store Door Carrier haulage (SD) Cargo, there is an extra charge of USD120.00 per container as a local charge associated to inland movement to depots near port when required.
- In case there is a “DUA Rojo” (Customs hold), there will be an extra charge of USD120.00 per container as a local charge associated to inland movement to a local depot for inspection.
- For all import cargo released and printed at origin, it is required to present an original set of the Original Bill of Lading into our counter (ventanilla) so the release of the cargo can be processed. This requirement does not apply for NVOCC's.

- For all container types and as per government regulation, the maximum weight accepted is 21.5 tons for cargo in chassis of 2 axles, overweight should be moved in chassis of 3 axles.
- Certain ozone-depleting substances and further chemical substances
- Pharmaceutical waste
- Certain insecticides and disinfectants
- Used pneumatic tires
- War vessels and weapons of war/arms for military purposes
- Certain toys
- Wild animal species for show purposes and public display
- Shark fin / shark meat

Our setup in Costa Rica consists of Combined Demurrage & Detention.
This means you will have one combined free time period and compensation for utilization of equipment inside and outside of terminals or depots, referred to as Combined Demurrage & Detention. Combined Demurrage and Detention starts from Discharge Full (included), ends with gate-in Empty in depot.
