Documentation Requirements:
- Original Bill of Lading (B/L) is necessary to release cargo before customs authorities. If B/L is printed at origin, shipper must send to consignee at least two (2) original B/L in order to release import cargo.
- All transport documents must have the cargo description manifested in Spanish (description in English can be manifested but an extra line with description in Spanish must be added). If the line description in Spanish is not added, fee apply.
All Transport documents must have the cargo description manifested in Spanish based on Article 44 of the Regulation of the Central American Uniform Customs Code (RECAUCA).
All kind of dangerous cargo must be coordinated as direct dispatch
- SWB only applicable for NVOCC, Forwarders
- OBLs must be rated as per customs requirements
- Package type Pieces is not allowed for import cargo via Corinto
- Once that the manifest is closed no changes will apply for Corinto Import Cargo ( Not seal change, no description or weight changes)
- Custom can charge a fine up to $1000 dollars for seal discrepancy in the port of Corinto.
- The plastic or bottle type seal are not allow in the port of Corinto.
- 2 axle chassis max weight = 21 MT
- 3 axle chassis max weight = 23.5 MT (subject to availability, it has to be requested with at least 48hrs in advance and has a cost of $150.00 USD per day the first 5 days and extra cost of $60 dollars per days after that time)
All cargos to Nicaragua that use Corinto as transshipment port must have the cargo description and package kind manifested in Spanish (description in English can be manifested but an extra line with description in Spanish must be added).If the line description and package kind in Spanish is not added, container cannot be discharged at port.
Our setup in Nicaragua consists of Combined Demurrage & Detention.
This means you will have one combined free time period and compensation for utilization of equipment inside and outside of terminals or depots, referred to as Combined Demurrage & Detention.
