Import
Amendments to the cargo details (description, weight, piece count) in the Transport Documents for containers arriving to Poti can be done latest 48 hours before arrival to Poti. Non-compliance with this rule may result in customs fines payable by consignees. Import Terminal Handling Charge (THC) as of 05/03/2016.
Manual documentation fee
From November 1st 2016, all shipping instruction submissions for your shipments must be submitted through www.sealandmaersk.com or any other online platform (EDI, INTTRA etc.).
In case that you still wish to submit the shipping instructions manually, a Manual Documentation Fee (MDF) is applied. The Manual Documentation Fee will be: 25 USD / bill of lading

Commodity
Cigarettes / processed tobacco carrier haulage is subject to excise permission. Excise add on is applicable on top of the trucking rate.
Animal origin cargo acceptance should be checked before making booking with Veterinary department of the destination and transit country, as there is restricted acceptance per commodity and/or origin. Lubricating oil carrier haulage is subject to additional charges and prior approval by Sealand Georgia, Poti office
Phyto/Vet Certificate
Important information for cargos requiring import and transit permissions:
- According to latest amendment to the customs code chapter 241, veterinary and phytosanitary permissions must be presented before the cargo is discharges from the vessel in Poti, Georgia.
- In case of non-compliance, customs fine GEL1000 will be charged per B/L. Due to the same import/transit veterinary or phytosanitary permissions together with veterinary or phytosanitary certificates and certificates of origin of the cargo must be sent no later than 24 hours before the vessel arrival.

Rail -
No weight limitation
No acceptance for single 20' dry container, minimum lot should be 2x20' dry or 1x20'dry plus 1x40'dry.
This is applicable for rail delivery via Poti, Georgia to any destination country.
Hazardous goods / special cargo
Hazardous goods, IMO cargo, excise and special cargo are subject to additional charges and prior approval by Maersk Georgia, Poti office.
No acceptance of reefer cargo on rail.
In case of overweight please contact Maersk Georgia, Poti office.

Notes
- Shipments into Azerbaijan and Armenia are subject to Georgia demurrage and detention tariff.
- Freetime and charges per container per calendar day (i.e. including weekends and holidays) after freetime expires.
- Start date and end date are included in the calculation.
- Shipper’s Own Container is considered as equivalent to corresponding container type.
- 40´ High and 45´ High containers are considered equal to 40´.
- NOR (non-operating reefer) is considered as Dry Container.
- Shipper’s owned tank with DRY cargo follows free time & rate of Dry equipment.
- Shipper’s owned tank with IMO cargo follows free time & rate of IMO.
- Open Top Out of Gauge and Flat Rack are considered as Special Containers.
- Open Top in Gauge is considered as Dry Containers.
- For special deals: Please bear in mind that the calculation method of charges for special deals (free-time granted > tariff free-time) is ‘progressive’ and the lead off rate slap(s) will be reduced by the number of days in excess of tariff free-time.
- Free time deals will be applied based on the effective deals at the Price Calculation Date (PCD).
- Combined Demurrage & Detention starts with discharge date (included) and ends with gate-in empty date (included) from terminal.
- Storage starts with discharge date (included) and ends with gate-out full date (included) from terminal.
- Pricing structure in Georgia consists of two elements; 1. Combined Demurrage & Detention and 2. Storage:
- Combined Demurrage & Detention: Free time period and charges for utilization of equipment inside and outside of terminals or depots. (invoiced under DET).
- Storage: Free time period for use of terminal or depot space (invoiced under DMR)
