Dry containers reuse policy

As of 1st June 2019 all requests for equipment re-use on Merchant Haulage are being managed through Avantida digital platform.
Your truck carrier will need to register with Avantida. Once registered in the platform, truckers will have access to Avantida 's automated request process, returning accurate responses within minutes and delivering time and overall cost savings.
A charge of 40€ will be applicable for approved equipment re-use requests and is payable directly to Avantida platform.

New Export Pick-Up surcharge tariff - Greece (15-02-2020)

In order to continue to maintain the quality of the services we provide, Maersk is implementing the Export PICK-UP surcharge, effective as of 15th February 2020.
When empty container pick up location is different than load port.

Commodity:

waste cargo

Not accepting 45’ & reefers on Adriatic service
Personal effects are only accepted on CY/CY basis and only through freight forwarding agent

Weight / Measurement:

Weight of container via Greek ports must not exceed 26 metrics tons including tare.

Special cargo:

OOG, B/B and IMO cargo subject to standard Maersk Line approval procedures. IMO containers will not be accepted by Piraeus terminal neither for stripping nor for stuffing at port warehouses as from 1 April 2003. CFS B/L of IMO cargo to/from Piraeus port not to be accepted.

The following class 4.1 UN numbers with similar properties, have been banned from acceptance globally as of 30/08-2013.

B/L clausing, documentation:

Following sentence must be inserted in all bills of lading: "Where the container has not been stuffed by carrier, carrier has no access to the cargo and cannot verify the current condition, quantity and quality of same, as described by shipper."

Export Demurrage, detention and electricity monitoring are not invoiced automatically, they are calculated and invoiced based on the date of gate-out

All Customers can require empty container pick up from an inland depot or port different the from load / discharge port provided that request is received in written and Maersk has reverted with written authorization.
