What type of Bill of Lading is your cargo moving on?
If the shipment is moving on an Original Bill of Lading, we need to receive at least one original bill of lading before we can act on your instructions. This needs to be sent to our office in Liverpool.
We also accept "Telex Release" where one or more original Bill of Lading(s) is lodged with an overseas office.
Kindly note that we do not accept photocopies of an Original Bill of Lading.
If the shipment is moving on a Seawaybill, we require all charges to be settled at origin and the final certified true waybill to be issued at origin before we can act on your instruction.
Do you have authority to submit a request for release or delivery?
We will only take instruction for release or delivery if your company is stated as the consignee on the Bill of Lading.
If you are acting on behalf of the consignee on the Bill of Lading, we will require you to send to us a release to order from them.
We can also accept authority from the consignee which authorises us to take instruction from an agent for future shipments.
Have you paid all the charges?
If you do not have credit facilities with Sealand Maersk, we will require any outstanding charges to be paid before we can arrange delivery or release. This includes demurrage and/or quay rent charges that may be incurred. More details of our free time can be found below.
If you need an invoice for these charges, please mention this on your delivery or release instruction.
Do you want Sealand Maersk to complete your haulage?
Before the shipment arrives we can pre book the delivery of the container. We can offer delivery from 24 hours after the vessel has departed (subject to availability). You can easily check our haulage availability here.
The delivery instructions can be submitted online using our ‘Delivery Order’ feature, a useful video can be found here.
If you are experiencing any problems with your online Delivery Order, please take a screen shot of the error and send it to GB.Import@sealandmaersk.com along with your delivery instructions. Your email must include the below:
- Container number(s)
- Delivery date
- Delivery time
- Full address including post code
- Any special instructions for the delivery point or delivery references
- Payer of any charges.
If you do need to amend or cancel your booking with us, please let us know by 12.00PM two working days prior to your booked delivery (excludes weekends). This enables us to avoid any unnecessary wasted journey charges being passed onto you and provides our drivers the best opportunity to get your cargo where it needs to be.
Have you arranged your own haulage?
We can arrange the release of your container up to three working days prior to the vessel arrival.
If the shipment is to be released to a haulier to perform the delivery, we require release instructions to be submitted online using our ‘Delivery Order’ feature found near the bottom of your main ‘Hub’ page.
If you are experiencing any problems with your online Release Order, please take a screen shot of the error and send it to GB.Import@sealandmaersk.com along with your delivery instructions. Your email must include the below:
- Container number(s)
- Haulier details (badge code or a request for a PIN number)
- Requested expiry date for the release
- Date of empty container return
- Payer of any charges
