ADVISORY #2  - Alternative location to receive Original Bills of Lading (OBLs) during COVID-19

April 8, 2020 -- Hope this message finds you well and keeping yourself and your family safe during these challenging times.
In connection with COVID-19 and the prevailing ‘Stay-at-home’ orders which are limiting access to our offices in USA, we are activating an alternative location to receive Original Bills of Lading (OBLs). Due to the constant changing situation, both locally and overseas, we ask that you please start directing any OBLs to the following address with immediate effect:

Import - Cargo Release:
Any Original Bills of Lading that would normally be sent to our 9300 Arrowpoint Blvd office in Charlotte,  NC should now be sent by express courier to:

Payments by check:
As a reminder, we do not accept checks in any of our Maersk USA offices. Please consider using the online payment options available at www.sealandmaersk.com. If you must pay by check,  please continue to send checks to our Bank of America lockbox at:

March 24, 2020 -- Due to the unfortunate widespread nature of the Coronavirus (COVID-19), many companies have had to enact contingencies plans that may disrupt normal business processes. We would like to be prepared in the event that the Bank of America Lockbox facility for check payments might close or normal check processing times be impacted. To avoid any delays in processing check payments, we are encouraging our customers to submit payments online through MyFinance, Wire or ACH. These are the best options to pay to avoid any delays in receiving payments and CASH freight release.

Please find below timelines in receiving the payments:

  • MyFinance (https://www.sealandmaersk.com/go/myfinance) - Real time posting of payment and real time release of shipments
  • Wire Transfer – 6 hours posting from the time payment was initiated.
  • ACH payment – 24-48 hours posting from the time payment was initiated.
