April 01, 2021 – Update 2
Contingency Plan for Congestion in Port of Haifa
As previously communicated, we're experiencing severe port congestions in Israel as the port authorities in Haifa has decided to discontinue the berthing windows. As a result, we've reviewed our services in the East Mediterranean Sea to ensure we can continue to serve our customers' transportation needs to this region.
As it's still unclear when the restrictions are expected to be eased, we've decided to remove port of Haifa from our SLB-North Sea service for the next 6 weeks. Instead, cargo will be discharged in the port of Mersin (TRMER), and the SLB will route back via the SLH-Mediterranean Sea B service or alternative tonnage. Details on your shipment changes will be communicated by our Customer Service teams.
To keep cargo flows under control, we're also temporarily putting restrictions to most of the intra-East Mediterranean flows for the SLB and SLH service.
We’re monitoring the situation closely and will keep you updated as it evolves to ensure transparency of our transportation routes. In the meantime, we appreciate your understanding as this situation is beyond our control.
We apologise for any inconveniences that this may cause to your business and recommend you to reach out to your local Sealand - A Maersk Company representative in case of any urgent questions, or if you would like guidance on how to move your cargo inland.

Israeli Port Congestion
We regret to inform you that we're experiencing increasing port congestions in the East Mediterranean Sea. That coupled with the decision of the port authorities in Haifa to discontinue the berthing windows has resulted in a need for us to review and revise our network to ensure we can continue to serve the Israelian market.
Such changes will affect the SLB-North Sea service and the SLH-Mediterranean Sea service. Exact adjustments will be communicated shortly and will be in force until the port situation in Haifa enables direct port calls.
We’re monitoring the situation closely and will keep you updated as it evolves to ensure transparency of our transportation routes. In the meantime, we appreciate your understanding as this situation is beyond our control.
We apologise for any inconveniences that this may cause to your business and encourage you to reach out to your local Sealand - A Maersk Company representative in case of any urgent questions.
