We write to inform you that Sealand - A Maersk Company does not accept any Iranian-owned containers on its vessels. Thus, please ensure that you do not book any shipment with us using a shipper’s own container where such container is Iranian.
Potential fines and penalties apply to all parties, including you, who facilitate the transit of Iranian-owned containers. Iranian containers are identified by the following prefixes, but not limited to: TDIU, HDXU, IRSU, BANU and FURU.
No laden or empty unit with these prefixes is permitted on any of Sealand - A Maersk Company's vessels. We screen containers to ensure compliance with this requirement and will take immediate action by offloading the Iranian container. Please ensure the containers you load onto our vessels do not include these prefixes.
If we offload any Iranian containers we will inform you directly. However, it will be your responsibility to take all actions after the container is offloaded. Further, to the extent that you have caused our vessel to carry a container with any of the above prefixes, and Sealand - A Maersk Company or any related third party suffers damage or loss as a result thereof, it will be your responsibility to compensate such losses.
