Americas: Environmental Fuel Fee (EFF) - September 2021

In line with our previous communication, EFF levels are reviewed monthly to reflect the latest Low Sulphur Fuel development so that significant cost change is shared between Sealand and customers symmetrically. The difference between the late VLSFO bunker compared to the last measured period means an increase in fuel price of 60,35 USD/TON. In this review, the average bunker price is above our bunker price baseline threshold and an new EFF tariff will be implemented for September 1st 2021.

Tariff changes

There will be monthly reviews of EFF, and EFF tariff will only change in case of significant fuel price fluctuations. If the average low-sulphur fuel price fluctuation in a month is more than 50 USD/ton (higher/lower) than the low-sulphur fuel price used for the last tariff calculation, this will trigger a tariff adjustment. The new tariff will be announced with 30 days’ notice.
