Dear Customer,

Staying committed to keeping you up to speed with the developments that affect your supply chain, please find the latest update regarding the introduction of a 7 day rule for Felixstowe & London Gateway.

You may have seen in the press the issues currently being faced in all UK ports.  There are many factors causing this including an increase in imports and congestion in the ports.

In order to minimise delays and reduce congestion, both Port of Felixstowe and London Gateway have made the decision to reduce the export receiving window for laden containers from 10 days to 7 days.   This is for carrier and merchant haulage and is with immediate effect.

There will remain periodic periods where empty containers will have to be restituted elsewhere, to help ease congestion.  When this happens, we will communicate separately.

All these actions are being taken to ensure as little disruption to supply chains as possible.

We would like to thank all of our customers for your continued efforts, patience and understanding during this incredibly difficult time. If you have any questions, please reach out to your local Sealand Maersk professional for more information.
