Be prepared with your cargo’s IPAFFS documentation before the new regulation comes into effect on 1 January 2022.
As a consequence of Brexit, the Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs (DEFRA) has introduced Import of Products, Animals, Food and Feed System (IPAFFS), a new web-based service for the application of documents that ensure the safe entry of selected products into the United Kingdom.
The system is coming into effect on 1 January 2022. This means companies only have a few weeks to get ready and need to act now. Being unprepared could severely affect your supply chain as delays at the UK border could put the quality of your goods at risk or prevent consumers from being able to purchase them easily.
Replacing the UK’s former system TRACES with IPAFFS may seem like learning a whole new language. For us, it’s second nature as we’ve been handling IPAFFS for imports from non-EU and non-EEA countries for years. Our IPAFFS Declarations Service will now be available to companies importing from the EU and the EEA as a part of our comprehensive and strategic customs services.
