Container Protect Essential (CP1) to replace Equipment Maintenance Import (EMI) effective from 1st May 2022

Effective 1st May 2022, a new global product, Container Protect Essential (CP1), would be introduced.  CP1 is an equipment protection product to cover container repair and cleaning fees within a limit of BRL 1,000 for Brazil and USD 450 for Uruguay and Argentina.

The CP1 will replace the surcharge Equipment Maintenance Import (EMI). CP1 will be applicable to all shipments imported into Argentina, Brazil, and Uruguay, where EMI is invoiced today along with your destination charges. Payment terms remain the same.

The tariff amount for CP1 is the same as EMI except for Reefer container to Argentina and Uruguay which will be slightly reduced – see below our tariff rates:

In case container repair and clean fees may exceed the respective limit, we will invoice the difference separately.
