Dear Customer, at Maersk, your needs are our top priority. That is why we constantly look for ways to simplify the way we do business with your represented.
As of February 1, 2022, the CP1 (Container Protect Essential) surcharge will replace the Container guarantee surcharge. CP1 will be applicable to all import shipments from Ecuador, regardless of size, type of equipment, or commodity. This surcharge has been replaced in order to improve your experience in the event of damage to our containers. The cost of the surcharge will be USD 45 per container, and a coverage limit of USD 500 (standard cleaning and repairs to the units). Any amount above USD 500 must be covered by the customer and the invoice for said excess will be issued independently, they can review the terms and conditions at https://terms.maersk.com/containerprotect
