We would like to inform you about a change in the customs clearance of import shipments from our main used ports for delivery to Czech Republic and Slovakia. This is with regards to termination of usage of T1 CIM bulk document for train transportation from the ports and introduction of individual T1 NCTS documents per container on the train leg.*
For customs clearance at the port, separate issuance of NCTS T1 documents will be required for individual shipments. This change will require the need to accurately declare individual items of goods and it will be accompanied by increased administrative requirements before our trains depart from port terminals. Also according to our General Terms and Conditions, these data are compulsory and must be included in the order. In the event of a penalty by the Customs Administration for incorrectly filled data, we will fully transfer the responsibility to the ordering party of the transport.
What does it mean for you?
- Delivery orders need to have HS codes with 8-digit (so far 6-digit was sufficient)
- Commercial invoice and packing list need to be provided latest 5 working days prior vessel ETA.
- More details like: number and type of packages / gross weight / invoice no. will be needed for each HS 8-digit code (cargo type) together with cargo description
Without above details our customs agent will not be able to prepare T1, therefore the container will not depart from the port and you may experience chasing from our side for those details.
We are actively preparing for these changes and looking for solutions for a smooth transition to a different customs clearance system. As from 19th of January you will experience in www.emaersk.eu the HS code field updated to 8 digits.
For Bremerhaven the hard start of this procedure is on April 1st (not a joke), what means that latest in March please submit all the information to avoid additional chasing from our side. We would really appreciate precise update of above details to www.e-maersk.eu while submitting the inland Delivery Order.
For further questions, we encourage you to liaise with your local customer service representative via email cz.import@maersk.com or sk.import@maersk.com or phone +420 222 353 378 (CZ) or +421 233 221 398 (SK).
We want to thank you for your business and look forward to future cooperation.
*NCTS (New Computerised Transit System) is a joint EU project for transit mode. It is based on electronic communication between subjects (declarants), the Customs Administration of the Czech Republic/Slovakia and the project countries (EU + EFTA). Regulation No. 952/2013 of the European Parliament and the European Council establishing the Union Customs Code and its implementing regulations will upgrade the NCTS system from Phase 4 to Phase 5.
